Meena Rafiq and Andrew McGovern are academic foundation doctors attached to the Clinical Informatics Group at the University of Surrey. They have both successfully completed research projects during their academic placements and have presented their research findings at National meetings. Their research is based on data collected for the Quality Improvement in Chronic Kidney Disease Trial (QICKD).
Meena Rafiq had an abstract accepted for oral presentation at the National Foundation Doctors Presentation Day in Bristol on prediction of falls in the elderly – a large community based cohort study, which is the largest study its kind in this field. The results will be compiled to construct a falls-risk model for use in a general practice setting.
