Did you know that April 7th is marked by World Health Day? This date was chosen due to the creation of the WHO, World Health Organization, in 1948.
The purpose of the date is to stimulate worldwide awareness about the importance of different aspects of health and, each year, a theme is presented. In the year 2021, for example, the theme was “Building a fairer, healthier world”.
When we talk about health, perhaps the obvious comes to our minds: not needing to be dependent on medication, being able to run and walk without getting tired easily, or even not needing to be in a hospital, among other options.
However, the theme goes much further and involves quality of life, being up to date with your physical, mental and social well-being, both personally and professionally.
Health is, by law, a fundamental human right, and the State must provide the essential conditions for its full exercise (anyone who wants to check more, runs on Google and searches the law 8080!).
In Brazil, August 5 is also the , in honor of one of the most important names in the country’s history, physician and scientist Oswaldo Cruz.
